When Speed Increases Time Consumption Increases

In many everyday, intuitive ways of thinking, one might conceptually equate a higher rate of movement (speed) with a higher rate of experience or "time consumption." This is based on the idea of busyness or kinetic energy, where an object moving faster covers distance more quickly and thus "uses up" its allotted time for the journey at a quicker rate. For instance, if you imagine a journey as a fixed budget of time, traveling faster to complete the journey implies that the clock in your frame is working overtime—consuming your scheduled time more rapidly than a slow-moving or stationary object—because the high speed demands a higher rate of activity and experience within the system.
